Breaking through your limitig beliefs
lunes, 17 octubre 2016 / Published in Personal Growth, Professional Development

We got to the TOP of the mountain!

Every stage of our personal and professional growth requires us to REDEFINE who we are and what we are capable of doing.
It forces us to imagine ourselves doing the things we only dream of! Dreaming, envisioning, visualizing– these are all strategies that help us step into our next level.

Just like a baseball player needs to envision the reach of their throw– we need to envision our next steps in detail– before a muscle is moved or any action is taken.

Here are three ways you can begin DESIGNING your next YOU:

BREAKING BARRIERS: Imagine yourself reaching your goal and visualize it as you push yourself physically. Run that marathon, kick that ball hard, sprint during your morning run– do things which embody breaking through your mental barriers or limitations.

GOAL CARD: Celebrate your accomplishments as if they had already happened! Write a grateful statement of celebration on a card and keep it with you at all times.

CLARITY: Be very clear on what you want:

How do you want to feel?
What does reaching your goal look like?
What stands between you and reaching your goal? Make a list.

Not really sure how to really get CLEAR??? Then, let’s chat. BOOK A COMPLEMENTARY SESSION and let’s start designing your next move. Together, we can move you and your business from GREAT to SUPERB!
ARE YOU IN SEATTLE?

Your guide to landing a TEDx Talk

As you might have figured out by now, I’m passionate about ideas. I’m passionate about:

  • Clarifying Ideas

  • Strategizing Ideas

  • Communicating Ideas

What is an idea? I define it as a thought or suggestion as to a possible course of action; a belief, a new way of doing something or a new perspective.

Ideas require creativity and clarity in the same way a plant needs water and sun!

I work in the world of ideas every day; whether I’m helping someone come up with a creative new path of action or a new way to lead their team.  It may be helping an entrepreneur clarify their value proposition, or brainstorming ideas for new products.

Ideas are what drive me and get me excited about ALL the possibilities!

This passion for ideas is what also inspires me to volunteer as the Lead Organizer of TEDxNewBedford. Together with my team, every year, we produce a 1,000+ audience event here in New Bedford, Massachusetts. This event gives me the opportunity to be exposed to hundreds of new ideas which speakers are bringing forth to impact our world.

As curator and speaker coach for TEDxNewBedford, I’m always asked this question: What would it take to bring MY idea to a TEDx stage?

So I’ve decided to share my experience and insights
on preparing for and landing on a TEDx stage
in my newly released book:“18 Minutes of Impact:
Move Your Audience to Action the TED Way.”

In this book you will find:

  • A step-by-step process on how to clearly articulate your idea and then pitch it to speak at a TEDx event

  • The elements of a successful TED talk and how you can use the TED speaking format to successfully engage your audiences in any speaking engagement

  • A proven framework to successfully create an emotional experience for your audience

Whether you are looking to land a TEDx stage in the near future, or you are just looking to raise the level of engagement with your audiences, this book is a MUST READ!

The good news??? As part of my community, I want to offer this book to you FOR FREE right now! Why?

Because I believe in empowering YOU to bring your ideas into our world!  I strongly believe in the nurturing, communicating and launching of ideas as catalysts for a better tomorrow.

So, download your FREE copy of my book right now!

What are you focusing your attention on?

Below find the two links I mentioned. One will help you understand what area of your business needs your attention right now. The other one will help you clarify which are of your life you need to prioritize. If you are running a business or are leading an organization, I would strongly suggest you take both assesments.

TAKE THE PULSE OF YOUR BUSINESS

TAKE THE PULSE OF YOUR LIFE

Now, here’s what’s going to happen. You will have some areas that you are doing well or great and some that not so well. My question to you is, what do you need to do, in that area where you score a lower point, to move one or two points up?

So what do you need to focus on?

I would love to know which area of focus came up as you did the self assessment, let’s schedule a time to chat: BOOK a time to speak.

As it is the last few days of summer, I’m planning on hitting the beach and spending time with my kids before we ALL go back to school, I hope, if you are still in summer mode, that you can do that as well.

StoryTelling My Way through venice
jueves, 18 agosto 2016 / Published in Inspiration, Speaking, Storytelling, TED/TEDx, Writing

Ciao… from Venice!

https://youtu.be/JxWZ-LFF_LY

Stories help us share information in a form that allows us to connect with our audiences emotionally.

In his article, «The Irresistible Power of Storytelling as a Strategic Business Tool», Harrison Monarth writes:

«Storytelling may seem like an old-fashioned tool, today — and it is. That’s exactly what makes it so powerful. Life happens in the narratives we tell one another. A story can go where quantitative analysis is denied admission: our hearts. Data can persuade people, but it doesn’t inspire them to act; to do that, you need to wrap your vision in a story that fires the imagination and stirs the soul.»

Here are three tips to remember when including stories in your communications:

    1. Get Clear. Don’t forget that, though important, stories are tools to bring your core idea/ message home; so first, be sure you are clear on the idea or message you want to share.

    1. Make it relevant. Make a list of the stories that are aligned with your idea/ your message. Less is more. Focus on one or two stories that are relevant to your particular audience AND are aligned with your core idea.

  1. Be Visual. Take your audience there. Make them feel, hear, smell, taste, engage their senses, the more you can transport them into your story the more you are engaging their heart.

Are you CLEAR on the stories that will help you share your message? I’ll be back from vacation after August, 10th, let’s schedule time to chat.

I’m off to bed before another busy day in Venice. Arrivederci.
