How do you respond to these questions:
-
Tell me about your work?
-
What do you?
-
Tell me about your business?
Specially if you are in business for yourself.
So here are three things to try when shifting from SELLING to SERVING:
-
Go to your sales call with an open mind. Don’t sell a product before you meet your prospect. Listen, find a «SOLUTION» for them (even if it is a program/package that you offer) but present it not as YOUR package but as THEIR solution.
-
Be comfortable in being authentic. If there is NOTHING that you offer that can assist your prospect then say so. Trust me, having a prospect walk out of a call feeling like they were served vs. sold will be the best word of mouth referral you can ask for.
-
Be strategic in your sales process. If you find that by using this method, most of your prospect calls turn into friendly chats where you are adding value and serving but not closing any sales… well then it’s time to analyse who these prospects are and where they are coming from. You might have to do some work clarifying your IDEAL client and reaching out to them specifically.
If you need help wtih CLARIFYING your ideal client. Then let’s chat, I will make myself available to you for FREE for 30 minutes to SERVE not to sell ;-).
Have a great weekend!

In his article «How to Boost Your Creative Thinking», Gregory Ciotti gives different strategies on boosting your creative thinking. Here’s what he has to say about “moving”:
«Is there any wonder that ‘Exercising more is one of the most desired good habits in the entire world? Some research even suggests that exercise can actually boost creative thinking as well, due to it’s ability to get the heart pumping and put people in a positive mood…If you’re stuck in a creative rut and want to take a break, try including exercise while your brain is subconsciously at work, it may help to speed up your “Aha!” moment.”
So, when in need to solve a problem, figure something out or come up with new ideas try:
- Moving: Bike, walk, run, go kayaking… whatever your favorite form of exercise is — get out there and do it!
- Don’t add noise: If at all possible, don’t add noise, music, audiobooks, keep it quiet. Put your phone away, try to find a quiet place to think.
- Solitude: Carve this time for yourself, even if it’s just 30 minutes. Put your phone away, find a place to be alone with your thoughts and regroup. Inspiration comes when we can remove the obstacles to it!
As a takeaway, answer these two questions:
- Where do you do your best thinking?
- How often do you give yourself this time?

As a Communications Coach, part of my work is to help my clients reconnect with their core beliefs, their «life purpose» — that which makes them feel alive. Only when my clients can reconnect with that part of themselves, can I then access their passion, their fire, that which makes them want to go beyond their comfort zone to spread their messages, grow their business, reach a larger audience.
Think about it, what would Mozart have done with his life had his parents discourage his music career, claiming it was not the most profitable career choice?
So, what is there for you in this message? What is YOUR passion, your unique gifts, your life’s purpose? Here are some questions that will help you find that out:
- What are you REALLY GOOD AT? (You’re recognized for being really good at this, you feel great passion, you could do it all day long fro free, you get better and better at it)
- What are you REALLY NOT GOOD AT? Incompetence (You really shouldn’t be doing this, you hate it and you’re actually costing the company money when you do this)
When we can align that which comes natural to us, that which we love to do and do not get tired of doing, with the work that we do for a living, that’s when we begin being fully aligned and on purpose. Each one of us has special gifts and talents, find that which makes you come alive and commit to being in the business of serving with your purpose, with your gifts. Trust me, when you do that, you will not work again in your life, your work becomes your purpose.
If you are having a hard time finding that swee spot, then, let’s schedule time to chat.
