Tips on Becoming a Powerful Speaker

I had the chance to chat with Julie Riesler of The You-est You Podcast and talk about curiosity, clarity, layers, and how to get on a stage!

Check out the interview HERE!

Julie summed up our interview with these kind words:

“Moving to the Boston suburbs at age 25 after being born and raised in Argentina was quite a culture shock. She leaned in on her curiosity and being of service with volunteering to help her move through a massive life transformation. Dolores talks about the power of getting clear with your message, purpose, and passion, and gives tips on how to do so.”

Things We Learned From This Episode:

  1. A tip to dig into your own clarity of purpose and interest is to ask yourself, ‘What would you do for free all day long?’ In Dolores’s case, she wanted to hang around people with big ideas as often as possible. A few days later when asked to help organize a TEDx event, she realized this was in direct alignment with her answer. Since then, Dolores now coaches speakers and entrepreneurs on their core message and IDEA.
  2. To get your CORE idea, use this simple formula…To (ACTION) so that (OUTCOME). For example, Dolores’s core idea is to inspire and help as many entrepreneurs share their stories so that they can uplift others with their big ideas.
  3. For those interested in landing a stage, including the coveted red circle stage, follow these tips: clarify your idea in one sentence, follow the process and fill out the application thoroughly and make your application STAND OUT by being clear, succinct and show what is unique about you.
