Storytelling My Way Through Venice…

Ciao… from Venice!

https://youtu.be/JxWZ-LFF_LY

Stories help us share information in a form that allows us to connect with our audiences emotionally.

In his article, «The Irresistible Power of Storytelling as a Strategic Business Tool», Harrison Monarth writes:

«Storytelling may seem like an old-fashioned tool, today — and it is. That’s exactly what makes it so powerful. Life happens in the narratives we tell one another. A story can go where quantitative analysis is denied admission: our hearts. Data can persuade people, but it doesn’t inspire them to act; to do that, you need to wrap your vision in a story that fires the imagination and stirs the soul.»

Here are three tips to remember when including stories in your communications:

    1. Get Clear. Don’t forget that, though important, stories are tools to bring your core idea/ message home; so first, be sure you are clear on the idea or message you want to share.

    1. Make it relevant. Make a list of the stories that are aligned with your idea/ your message. Less is more. Focus on one or two stories that are relevant to your particular audience AND are aligned with your core idea.

  1. Be Visual. Take your audience there. Make them feel, hear, smell, taste, engage their senses, the more you can transport them into your story the more you are engaging their heart.

Are you CLEAR on the stories that will help you share your message? I’ll be back from vacation after August, 10th, let’s schedule time to chat.

I’m off to bed before another busy day in Venice. Arrivederci.
