The emptiness inside
martes, 22 mayo 2018 / Published in Personal Growth, Relationships

Have you, ever felt the emptiness too? If so, here are three things you can do about it:
  1. ALLOW: Buying another outfit, building a new home, buying a new car, a new trip, even working longer hours to grow your business will not make the feeling go away. The first step is to lean back and allow to feel what you are feeling. Don’t numb it or crowd it out with activity. It just creates noise. Instead, grab a piece of paper and write it all out… go ahead, do it now.
  2. GET CLEAR: So, now that you’ve allowed yourself to feel what you feel, you are no longer running away from it. Now, think about a moment in your life that you felt fully alive, what were you doing, how were you feeling? These moments give us information about who we are and when we feel at our best. Use this WORKSHEETto explore.
  3. TAKE ACTION: Once you allow feeling how you are feeling AND you get clear on what could be the source (usually it is when we realize that we are not honoring all or some of our top values) then what is next? ACTION!Using the list of values you’ve identified from STEP 2 identify, next to each value, 2 ways you will honor that particular value in the next week. Keep playing this game, make it a priority to finding ways to honor the values that make you feel alive… trust me, your reality will change!

So, that’s it. Beginning the life we want is simple, dare to explore what is not working and make a plan for what is possible!

I’m now back home with my family and I’m incredibly grateful for having had the opportunity to spend a week in Paris reconnecting with me!
Have a great rest of your day,
Are you hiding?
If you are like me, you might be suffering from the «hiding» syndrome I’ve suffered from all winter. This feeling of «I’m not ready», «I’m confused», «If I don’t have all the answers I won’t take action»,,,, Someone recently said to me that the «I’m not CLEAR or I’m confused» excuse is simply that… an excuse to NOT TAKE ACTION.
But I’m done with it! I’m declaring, right here, right now that I’m launching…
stay tuned for MAY 8thbut for you…
Reader, can you commit as well?
Commit to taking action towards that project, that will move your business forward but that you’ve yet to roll up your sleeves.
So, here are three things that you need to take that next step:
  • COURAGE: Yes, we all need a bit of courage here or there but when we are talking about going out to the market and bringing our work, we need a LOT of courage. Hey, if it were easy, everyone will be doing this work. But you have the courage, otherwise, you would not be reading this email or in my community. Somehow you found yourself with this in your inbox and you’ve read this far… take this as a sign that you have the courage and you are ready!
  • CLARITY: You don’t need to know EVERYTHING that will happen in your business for the next five years, not even for the next 12 months. All you need is enough CLARITY to know how to communicate your VALUE PROPOSITION, who you are speaking to and how to price your product. The rest will come… trust me.
  • ACTION: It’s interesting how this works. If you mix a bit of COURAGEwith CLARITY you will have enough to get you moving and the ACTION itself will bring more courage and more clarity. As you get into the market, as you connect with your audience, receive feedback and move forward you will witness yourself coming alive, feeling energized and empowered. It feels magical! Try it, go post something or share your work with someone right now and see what happens.

So, that’s it.

That’s all there is to it and if you want to be the first to know of the surprises for MAY 8th simply click HERE. 😉 and hold me accountable to that day!

Have a great rest of your day,
Can money buy success?

Where did you go to school?

What did you study?
When was the last time you had to answer these questions? How relevant are those decisions in the life you lead today?
They might be critical or they might not.
This week I’ve been touring colleges here in the US for my son, who is off to college in the Fall and for my daughter who is a junior, one more year at home!
As we walk around these schools, eloquent student tour guides giving us the grand experience of their school, I can’t help but think how are schools preparing our children to succeed in the world?
How does a bigger, better, grander building or more expensive education have to do with my child’s success in life?
Don’t get me wrong. EDUCATION MATTERS!
And as a family we are going to be investing in our children… but how much of their success will depend on these institutions?
Here are three things I’m learning as I tour these schools. I’ve actually heard these tips shared by each one of the tour guides:
  • Knock on doors: Each one of the schools we visited pride themselves on the student/professor ratio, their personalized approach and the way they get to know their students… but then they all say… the best way to ensure you get great opportunities is to knock on doors. Be the student that calls the professor, inquires about internships, knocks on doors and volunteer for research projects. Don’t wait for the opportunity to come to you, go find it!
  • Get Involved: One of the challenges for students today is that they are committing to expensive educations without a clear IDEA of who they want to be when they grow up. There are many ways to find the answer to this question but, for any stage in our lives, the best way to learn about what we like and what we don’t like is to try it out! To get involved, volunteer, test assumptions, join communities and working groups. The best way to find out our path is to start walking.
  • Practice Self Care: Each one of the schools touched on the importance of self-care. We toured their gyms, the dining halls and they talked about the health food options. The fact that they spent so much time on this issue reminded me that there is no learning without self-care. There is no success without self-care. We need to care and nurture our bodies so that they can perform at their peak. So we can realize our full potential.

Yes, I know, you are past the college age, you are well on your journey but sometimes we need to come back to basics and asks ourselves:

Who do I want to be when I grow up?

Start by knocking on doors and getting involved 😉

Have a great rest of your day,

At the end of the day….. what is your work all about?

Let me tell you about something that happened FOR me this morning.
This week I’ve been feeling off. Tired, overwhelmed, self-doubt all mixed together.
This morning, I wake up and I decide to stop by the pharmacy on my way back from dropping off the kids at school. Now, my husband offered to run the errand for me but I decided I wanted to do it, I needed the distraction.
As I walk into the pharmacy, one of the ladies at the store recognizes me from church (she and I have volunteered before in the youth program) and she looks at me, her eyes swell up and she says:
«You are just who I needed to see today.»
Puzzled I asked why and she proceeds to tell me about her son and his struggles; how every time she and I talk she feels lighter and with more clarity and how when she saw me come into the store she smiled and realized I was bringing her light.
NOW… TRUST ME… this is not how I felt this morning.
In my yoga pants and t-shirt, I felt like darkness more than light…
but at that moment, listening to her, offering some suggestions and mostly acknowledging her, I felt in purpose, on purpose, and for a purpose.
I thanked this lady for reminding me of who I am, what I do and what I bring to the world. I paid for my purchase and I came back to my office to remind YOU,  of your purpose.
To be the LADY IN THE STORE, for you.
If you are reading this email, and you are on my list, chances are you are a change maker. Your work not only pays the bills but brings you joy, brings a gift to the world and leaves a footprint.
So I want you to read this email and ask yourself… what is the IMPACT of your work?

What do you leave behind every time you SHOW UP for your purpose?

There’s a book that is a «mandatory read» for all my clients. This is Viktor Frankl’s book «Man’s Search for Meaning» you can find it on Amazon or you can download a FREE PDF (the author made available to the public) right here:
The biggest gift I receive, every day I sit at my desk, is the gift of honoring my life purpose through my work.
I believe this is possible for EVERYONE.
Yes,  you as well.
So if you don’t feel very aligned… or if you are «waiting» for the perfect moment to release what you are doing to show up for your purpose then let’s chat.
How aligned is your work with your LIFE PURPOSE?
Have a great rest of your day,
TOP
