The domino effect… to growing your business

I’m not recording a video right now… because I’m sitting under a hair dryer at the salon. Yes, I take my work wherever I go and where better to do some creative writing than while my head is getting pampered 😉

But that’s not the point of this email.

This week, as I ease my way back into work, I am reminded that business is like a game of dominoes… one simple element can unlock your WHOLE business.

So what is that ONE element?

CLARITY OF YOUR CORE IDEA

Years ago, I signed up for a very expensive business coaching program, I thought it was the answer to all my prayers. That by investing all that money I would immediately realize all my business goals.

Well, it did not happen that way exactly…

I spent the whole year learning everything I need to know to grow a successful business, the problem was, I DID NOT KNOW WHAT MY BUSINESS WAS ABOUT.

What was my unique positioning, what was it that I was offering that was UNIQUE, DIFFERENT, MARKETABLE? The program was great except for that part, it did not help me clarify what it was that I was bringing to the market. My business was locked behind a wall of confusion!

It took me a while but once I understood my CORE IDEA and CORE NICHE, everything fell into place like a set of dominoes… one right after the other.

My CORE IDEA unlocked my PROPRIETARY SYSTEM which helped me define my BUSINESS MODEL, MY PRODUCT & SERVICE OFFERING and MY MARKETING STRATEGY (TRUST FUNNEL)all while defining MY MARKET, MY ACTION PLAN, MY VISION and keeping tabs on my MINDSET!

So, if you are stuck behind the same wall I was years ago; then here are three clarifying steps you can take to move forward:

    • STEP 1: WHAT ARE YOU KNOWN FOR? Whether you have launched your service based business or not, what are you known for? What are you really good at solving?
    • STEP 2: WHAT DOES THE MARKET NEED? Now, what are the services (problems/pain points) that you know the world needs and are willing to pay for?
  • STEP 3 MVP:What is the Minimum Viable Product you can put together that excites you, that you know your clients will get results and that the market needs. So, it is that EASY. Growing your business begins by conquering your CORE IDEA and sticking with it. Everything else will come from that.
